Peer Review Process

The editorial flow in the Journal of Health Management (JMK) goes through several stages. First, we will receive your initial manuscript and pass it to the first editorial screening. The first editorial process considers several aspects, e.g. aims and scope of the manuscripts in line with JMK, novelty of the manuscripts, ethics for the manuscript submitted, clear writing organization, and matching with the journal guidelines. The editorial screening will determine whether the manuscript will be reviewed or rejected. Before the editorial board allows this manuscript to be under the review process, manuscripts with minor revisions will have a 2-week revision deadline. Those with major revisions will need a 1-month revision and have to resubmit the revised manuscript. It is possible that manuscripts submitted have no revision and can be published at one time. The manuscripts will undergo proofreading and the Turnitin process before and after review. In the review process, it takes 1-4 weeks to complete. Afterward, the authors must revise it according to the reviewers' suggestions. At the final stage, our section editor will recommend whether the manuscript is eligible for publication, and the final decision belongs to the editor-in-chief.

Publication Ethics Statement

Publication Ethics

Journal of Health Management (JMK) STIKES Yayasan Rs.Dr.Soetomo applies the guidelines issued by the Publication Ethics Committee (Commission on Publication Ethics / COPE). JMK requires all articles involving human subjects to respect the research ethical principles as enshrined in the Declaration of Helsinki. Publication ethics must be clear in order to improve the quality of the research. JMK COPE adapts itself to meet the ethical standards for publishers, editors, writers and reviewers.

The following are the ethical standards for editors, writers, and reviewers.

Editor

  • Editors must be responsible for every article published in JMK.
  • Editors must assist authors to follow the Guidelines for writers.
  • Editors are allowed to communicate with other editors and reviewers in making the final decision.
  • An editor must evaluate the manuscript objectively for publication, assessing the quality of each article regardless of the nationality, ethnicity, political beliefs, race, religion, gender, seniority, or institutional affiliation of the authors. Editors must decline any assignments with a potential conflict of interest.
  • Editors need to ensure that the documents sent to the reviewers contain no author information, and vice versa.
  • The editor's decision must be informed to the author along with the reviewer's comments unless it contains offensive or defamatory remarks.
  • Editors must respect the requests from authors regarding individuals that should not review their submissions, if the reasons are reasonable and practical.
  • Editors and all staff must ensure the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
  • Editors will be guided by the COPE flowchart for any misconduct or disputed authorship.

Reviewer

  • Reviewers give comments on possible errors in the research and publication ethics.
  • Reviewers must complete their work on time and notify Editors if they are unable to complete their work.
  • Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of the manuscripts.
  • Reviewers may not accept and review manuscripts if there is a potential conflict of interest between them and the author.

Writer

  • Authors ensure that the material submitted has not been published and sent to other places simultaneously
  • Authors must ensure the authenticity of their research and have a proper citation of other people's opinions according to the reference format.
  • Authors are not involved in any act of plagiarism.
  • Authors must follow the criteria described in the JMK’s author guidelines.

  • For human experiments, the authors state that the study complies with the ethical standards of the Declaration of Helsinki, the leads of human experiments. If any doubt is raised regarding the compliance to the declaration, then the author should provide the explanation needed. For animal experiments, the authors must confirm that they have followed both domestic and foreign guidelines regarding animal experiments in the laboratory.
  • Authors must submit data and details to the editor if any falsification or fabrication of data suspected.
  • Authors must explain anything that may create a conflict of interest such as employment, research fees, consulting fees, and intellectual property for guidance to JMK authors.

Editor's Confidentiality
