Author Guidelines

Potential authors of Jurnal Hubungan Internasional are highly encourage to go through this author guidelines and the publication ethics before proceeding with their submission.

General Requirements and Points to Note

  1. Any manuscript submitted to Jurnal Abdimas Jatibara should not have been published elsewhere, or sent to other journals, or be under another publisher’s consideration until there is notification from Jurnal Abdimas Jatibara.
  2. All authors are required to sign the Agreement of Licence Transfer once they submit their manuscript to Jurnal Abdimas Jatibara. By signing the agreement, the copyright is attributed to this journal to protect the intellectual material for the authors. The authors are allowed to share, copy, and redistribute the material in any medium, and in any circumstances to adapt with an appropriate credit to the work. Sharing through repository or personal blog or media is allowed as it can increase the impact of the article.
  3. All the business of this journal is conducted through the websites jurnal.stikes-yrsds.ac.id/index.php/JAJ/ and the editorial team will only communicate to the corresponding author, considered as the representative of the authors of the sumbitted work.
  4. All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Abdimas Jatibara will be reviewed anonymously by peer-reviewers who have an expertise on the issue or perspective of the manuscript.
  5. Plagiarism issue may arise when the author, after using another person’s work, claims to be the source of the material. However, similarities might happen due to inappropriate citation or in case where the paraphrase was not well stated. To avoid any plagiarism issues, we suggest to authors to screen their papers using plagiarism screening tools such as Turnitin. Jurnal Abdimas Jatibara will not proceed with the submission subject to this issue and will return it to be fixed and resubmitted. Jurnal Abdimas Jatibara might also reject it without further consideration if it notices that it was done intentionally (see Plagiarism Policy for further information).

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

  1. Articles in Jurnal Abdimas Jatibara are published in English or Indonesian consistently throughout the text. Please, be sure to write clearly and use correct punctuation. We recommend that non-native speakers have their manuscripts proofread.
  2. The length of an article should be 5000-7000 words including bibliography. It should be sent in editable version as a Microsoft Word (.Doc or .Docx) or Rich Text Format (.Rtf) and use a standard typography (Camria, 1 spacing, 11 pt. or use the article template). Organise titles and subtitles using a clear hierarchy. Please do not use more than three levels of headlines. Avoid the use of bullet points or numerated explanations.
  3. The Title of the article should clearly describes the article. Type in brief and informative words. Use uppercase to the initial letter of the main words only with no longer than 14 words.
  4. The Abstract should be a concise paragraph with no more than 200 words written in English languages. It should includes a brief description of the paper, methodology, and the summary of key finding with 3-4 keywords. Keywords represent field of expertise of the author, novelty, issues, and the tools of analysis.
  5. The Introduction delivers the background of the issue, and helps the reader to get into the context of the article. In this section the author must state the writing objectives and the novelty of the article.
  6. Literature Review should compare and evaluate preceding works on the subject so that the author’s article will be novel and unique or Theoretical Framework introduces the theory that explains why the research problem exists under study and describes it.
  7. Research Method informs how the research was conducted and what data collection or analysis methods was used.
  8. Result and Analysis elaborates the data to make the work understood. Authors may use figures, tables and diagrams to help them provide comprehensive explanations.
  9. Conclusion contains the summary of the article and key findings.
  10. Acknowledgement should be limited to providers of financial support and people who contributed directly in the making of the article or during the research.
  11. Figures, Tables, Diagrams must have title and sources and provided in numerical order. Any tables or figures being published again after an initial publication must be clearly stated as an adapted or reprinted material.
  12. Mendeley is allowed in this journal to clarify, compare, or give a critical contention that makes the analyses more advanced.
  13. Reference is a list of referred sources arranged in Vancouver style citation as the example below shows and is presented alphabetically and chronologically. The editorial team recommends that authors use the reference manager tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, EndNotes, and etc. They should prioritise recent research, going for books of the last 10 years and journal articles of the last five years in conjuction with other relevant primary sources.

Guidelines to Online Submission

  1. Register as an author at jurnal.stikes-yrsds.ac.id/index.php/JAJ/ and fill the form as accurately as possible.
  2. Log into your account and start a new submission. Follow the instructions correctly.
  3. The submission must include 1) manuscript file (.doc; .docx; .rtf;); 2) supplementary files.
  4. Submit the work and observe to be sure it is done.

Guidelines to Responding Reviewer Feedback

  1. Reviewers would send feedback to the author(s), and once it is received, it is expected that authors would respond to the feedback at the specified due date.
  2. The responses given by the author(s) should be made using the Ms. Word track changes feature.
  3. Author(s) should note that they would receive two feedbacks from different reviewers. Therefore, the author(s) should try to copy each of the comments and suggestions into one document. Afterward, the author(s) could respond by proposing arguments, revising statements, and answering questions.
  4. After the response to the feedback from the reviewer, the author(s) could send their response to the editorial team through Open Journal System (OJS) Jurnal Abdimas Jatibara or emailing to jurnalabdimas@stikes-yrsds.ac.id.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 11-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Least  1 (One) Reviewers have been followed.
